It is interesting to me to wonder how far our developed western culture is going to take the cult of celebrity. I think it is topical with the current silly season of awards shows that has launched with the golden globes, and will run right through to the Academy awards in a few short weeks. Will we even notice Barack’s inauguration I wonder.

The thing that amuses me about the whole situation how emotional and superstitious not just the regular joe is about their favourite celebrity, but also the “big” film “bosses”.

Take Nicole Kidman as an example. Here you have a highly talented actress, some serious chops, no one will argue that. But, with a string of flops, has begun to draw an almost black widowesque shadow over her films.

Australia the movie to be fair was right out on the egde of poor Baz’s social convention flaunting mind, but, do we or should we blame the actor or the director.. or should we just get over ourselves and accept it is just a silly movie, and not worth getting all so passionate about?

What do you say? (Back to our regular sheduled programming now aswel..)
